DUSTIN & CLOSING THE LOOP: TOGETHER BRINGING RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRONICS TO DUSTIN'S CLIENTS
Dustin and Closing the Loop have been pioneering circular services for a couple of years now, aiming to improve technology consumption practices across clients. These efforts have helped numerous clients to get started on greener, or circular procurement. Clients such as the Dutch National Government, are offering their employees ‘waste-neutral’ devices thanks to Dustin.
‘Waste neutral’ devices means that Dustin links a customer’s newly purchased device to the collection and recycling of the same product that has reached end-of-life. Hence, the main impact result of this partnership is the collection and recycling of more than 500.000 broken phones. The broken phones are collected from countries that lack proper recycling facilities.

The impact of partnerships like this extends beyond the environmental space. Closing the Loop’s ability to reduce electronic waste in developing markets has been significantly increased by collaborations with organizations like Dustin. This growth has not only created economic opportunities locally but has also contributed to the reduction of pollution in countries that lack formal waste management capacity.
