We’re proud to share that Closing the Loop has been named a winner of the 2024 Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC) Leadership Award in the Circular Economy category. This recognition celebrates our commitment to driving real business, social, economic and environmental impact through sustainable IT procurement.
A circular solution at scale
Our award-winning case study highlights our One for One partnership with Vodafone Germany, a program that has proven how circularity can be both scalable and commercially viable. Since 2022, this initiative has linked every new phone sold by Vodafone to the responsible recycling of a scrap phone in regions lacking proper facilities. To date, it has collected over 1.5 million scrap phones, turning electronic waste challenges into scalable, consumer-friendly circular solutions that bridge the gap between high-tech consumption and responsible recycling.
Industry recognition that matters
“We are honoured to receive this recognition from SPLC, an organization that champions procurement as a force for positive change. Industry recognition like this is crucial for our service, as it highlights the growing importance of circular solutions in IT procurement,” said Ana Maria Alvarez, Marketing Director at Closing the Loop.
Marc Heisterkamp, CEO of SPLC, echoed this sentiment:
“SPLC is thrilled to celebrate Closing the Loop’s exceptional leadership in sustainable procurement. Their innovative approach and measurable results demonstrate the transformative power of sustainable procurement and serve as an inspiration to other organizations seeking to make a positive impact.”
