We’re proud to share that together with Vodafone, Closing the Loop has been nominated for the GLOMO Awards in the category “Outstanding Mobile Contribution to the UN SDGs” at MWC Barcelona 2025. This recognition highlights the One for One programme, launched together with Vodafone in 2022, as an impactful circular solution in the mobile industry.
One for One:
Circularity at Scale
The One for One programme is a promise to private customers in Germany that for every new mobile phone bought, Vodafone would bring an old one back into the recycling ecosystem. To date, it has triggered the collection of over 1.5 million scrap phones, the equivalent of more than 80 tonnes of e-waste. Since its launch, it secured more than 3,800 living wages for local people – result of the jobs created by this scheme.
GLOMO Awards: Tech4Good
This GLOMO Awards category celebrates the most impactful initiatives in mobile connectivity that contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. As the first industry to align behind the UN’s 2030 vision, the mobile sector plays a crucial role in accelerating sustainable solutions at a global scale. This nomination follows Vodafone’s multiple award wins last year, reinforcing the growing recognition of One for One as a best practice in circularity for tech.
