Connected Impact

The world is now more connected than ever before. 2020 marked a year of digital connectivity. Closing the Loop first attended Mobile World Congress (MWC) seven years ago, and this year we attended as well. Shaped into a hybrid event, MWC21 was the perfect opportunity for our team to connect to producers, operators, tech enthusiasts and potential customers on a physical and digital level.

The overall theme of the MWC this year was ‘’connected impact’’. A really relevant topic, since the worldwide network resilience has been pushed to the limit over the last year, and the value of digital devices has never been more significant to society. This year, there was special emphasis on the future of technology and society.

The first day marked the opening of the Holland Pavilion. During the opening event ‘’Connected Impact’’, insights to the Sustainable Development Goals, smart cities and 5G were shared. Our CEO and Founder, Joost, shared his experience on how you can buy the devices you need, while making your colleagues and CSR department proud. Other speakers included the SDG Coordinator of the Netherlands, The City of Amsterdam, TNO, TU Delft and representatives from the province of South-Holland.

When asking Joost about his experience on the first day, he stated:

''Connected impact is on the agenda. It was great to see, on this first day at MWC, that many are also interested in getting into practice.''

In the evening, a Dutch Networking event was organized to connect to other Dutch entrepreneurs.

The second day was marked by creating connections and exploring possible new partnerships. Closing the Loop was part of a special circular economy event organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya. CEO’s of 15 companies and regional government officials joined the event to hear more about new approaches and practical steps towards a circular economy. Day 3 was all about the GLOMO awards; an award Closing the Loop was once nominated for, and this year Joost was part of the jury for the ‘’Best Mobile Innovation for Climate Action’’- award. Congratulations to KT for winning the award!

To conclude, we experienced a great edition of MWC this year. Our team continues to spread our story worldwide, virtually and in person. We are happy to connect with you, reach out to info [at] closingtheloop.eu ()
